Our Core Values

Our Focus Areas

Gender Justice & Social Inclusion

OXDEV is deeply committed to advancing gender equality through impactful initiatives that support women and girls. Through the Creating Spaces project, 35,619 individuals were reached to help reduce violence against women and girls and address early and forced marriages. The She Can Lead project further strengthened women’s participation by promoting greater gender responsiveness in electoral processes. In addition, the Marriage No Child’s Play initiative worked to challenge harmful practices and protect the rights of young girls. Under the Women’s Voice and Leadership program, OXDEV reached over 153,000 people and supported women’s rights organizations in influencing policies and legal frameworks, helping create a more inclusive and equitable society.

Humanitarian & Systems Resilience

OXDEV responded swiftly to the 2022 floods, reaching over 370,000 people through timely and effective support. The organization follows a partner led approach, placing trust in local organizations to make key decisions on how resources are allocated. This ensures that responses are grounded in local knowledge and real community needs, rather than relying on a top down model, resulting in more relevant and sustainable impact.

Economic Empowerment & Future Skills

OXDEV shows a strong ability to work alongside the private sector through impactful programs such as GRAISEA, where thousands of farmers were supported in adopting sustainable rice farming practices. This effort helped lower production costs by 30 percent while improving productivity by 15 percent. Alongside this, the Empower Youth for Work program focuses on rural youth affected by climate challenges, providing them with practical soft and technical skills such as digital freelancing and Facebook marketing. These initiatives enable young people to access modern economic opportunities and build more stable and independent livelihoods.

Climate Resilience, Knowledge, Research and Learning

OXDEV is committed to advancing climate resilience and green growth by supporting community led adaptation efforts and encouraging youth led renewable energy initiatives that promote sustainable solutions at the local level. The organization also places strong emphasis on knowledge, research, and learning, using the World Citizens Panel impact measurement approach along with localized data to better understand community needs and ensure its programs are effective, accountable, and grounded in real evidence.
